January is almost over and we are in the final week of the transfer window, and deals now are starting to be finalised as clubs close deals for their targets.

Reading are in a transition with Brian McDermott having his first window since returning to take the helm at the Royals, and he is bringing in some key targets to push Reading up the Championship table.

As they currently stand, Reading are 13th in the league, eleven points behind the play-off pack, which in this division can be closed if they get on a good run of form.

The Royals have been linked with a number of targets so far this month, and have landed two so far, and it would be no surprise to see the club look to add to their squad.

With so much at stake this season, clubs are willing to spend a bit more and chase the dream of playing in the Premier League.

Here are THREE players Reading FC should look to sign this week.....

Bradley Dack

The 22-year-old Gillingham midfielder has been sensational in League One this season, and has attracted the attention of numerous Championship sides.

Dack has scored 14 goals in 32 matches so far and Gillingham have already rejected some offers for the talented midfielder.

Several clubs would like to steal Dack away from Gillingham, but if Reading meet the asking price of the League One side they can land a really exciting talent.

Dack has the capability to dribble and provide pinpoint passes, and would provide perfect ammunition for Reading's strikers.

Tom Bradshaw

Walsall leading striker has scored eleven goals this season so far, as he aids Walsall's bid for promotion from League One.

The Welshman is a target for Preston and Reading, with both clubs needing to increase their firepower, and Walsall are willing to listen to offers around £750,000 for a player they paid Shrewsbury Town just £50,000 back in 2014.

Bradshaw could step up to the Championship, and could fire the Royals towards their goal of the play-offs.

Steven Whittaker

Norwich City defender Steven Whittaker could prove crucial, as Brian McDermott's side have struggled with injuries in the defensive department.

The 31-year-old Scottish player has been a key player for Norwich in their recent success, but has become surplus to requirements at Carrow Road  as Norwich have bolstered their defence in a bid to retain their Premier League status.

Whittaker was a key defender last season as Norwich won promotion to the top flight, and the Royals would undoubtedly benefit from his experience.
