Queens Park Rangers have already made a couple of changes in this transfer window, selling top scorer Charlie Austin to Southampton, while goalkeeper Matt Ingram has come in from Wycombe Wanderers.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side sit 14th in the table, nine points clear of the relegation zone, but 11 points outside the play-off places.

Austin's goals will be difficult to replace, as the striker scored 10 times in 16 league appearances before agreeing a move to St Mary's, leaving Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, who has found the back of the net five times this season, as the leading goalscorer at Loftus Road.

QPR could also be looking to strengthen at the back before the transfer window closes, having kept just two clean sheets in their last nine outings - a run which has seen the team pick up just one win.

Patrick Bamford

Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford lit up the Championship last season, scoring 19 goals in 44 appearances for Aitor Karanka's men, before agreeing to spend this term with Crystal Palace.

However, a lack of playing time at Selhurst Park resulted in his loan being cut short and a series of Championship sides being linked with a move for the 22-year-old.

Hasselbaink's connections at Chelsea and the hole left by Austin's departure make a move to QPR a real option for the striker.

Bamford is a superb finisher in the box, has great pace on the counter-attack and has a decent long-range finish, so should help the team find the back of the net more often.

Peter Crouch

Peter Crouch has struggled to get on the pitch at Stoke City this season, making just 10 appearances for Mark Hughes's side, with all five of his league outings coming off the bench.

The manager has insisted that the former England international is not for sale, but the forward continues to be linked with a move away from the Britannia, and QPR need a replacement for Austin.

Crouch made his first senior appearance for QPR in 2000 after coming through Tottenham's youth system, and was an immediate success at the club, scoring 12 goals in his first season.

The 34-year-old hasn't played outside the Premier League since the 2003-04 season, but his height makes him a threat in the air, while the chance to play regular football would appeal to Crouch.

Rhoys Wiggins

Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has admitted that defender Rhoys Wiggins is keen to move on in this transfer window, having made just nine appearances for the Owls this season.

The former Wales youth international has plenty of experience in the division, having spent the last three seasons in the Championship with Charlton, before moving to Hillsborough in the summer.

Although a striker will be the main priority for QPR this week, the team could definitely use a defender that knows the league and is keen to play, particularly given the Hoops' lack of clean sheets in recent weeks.

Wiggins is a reliable and talented defender, who could help Hasselbaink's side keen their opponents out more often as they try to move up the table.
