Sky Bet Championship outfit Nottingham Forest completed their squad on transfer deadline day with the addition of three new players, to take new boss Philippe Montanier’s summer total to 11.
The one blemish on the Reds’ summer business was the club’s Chairman opting to cash in on prized asset Oliver Burke, who departed for Red Bull Leipzig for a whopping £13 million, leaving a sour taste in the mouth of their ardent supporters.
Forest’s owner had pledged to reinvest the cast recouped from the Burke transfer but as deadline day passed, the Reds had spent just £300,000 on their final day business with ex-Middlesbrough man Mustapha Carayol the only notable name.
A shortage of strikers in the Forest squad could now leave the club short in attack until the window reopens in January, with many supporters now questioning the club’s ambition.
