Nottingham Forest have made a very promising start to the new season under Sabri Lamouchi and are currently fourth in the Sky Bet Championship table.

There's still a long way to go in the promotion race, but the Reds' start to the campaign under their new head coach has given fans at the City Ground plenty of reasons to feel optimistic about their chances of returning to the Premier League.

After replacing Martin O'Neill in the summer, Lamouchi brought in several new players and those who were already at the club when he took charge have totally bought into his vision for the team.

Matty Cash signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract at the City Ground last week and if recent reports are to be believed, Ryan Yates is expected to sign a new long-term contract at the club later this week.

Here are three other players that Forest should be thinking about getting tied down to new deals...

Jack Robinson

Jack Robinson made 38 appearances for Nottingham Forest in the Championship last season and he's been an important player for the Reds so far this campaign under Lamouchi too.

The 26-year-old has made 14 appearances for the Reds in the Championship so far this season and played a key role in their promising start to the campaign under the Frenchman.

He's a good defender, but he's also very good going forward to and has done very well to keep Yuri Ribeiro out of the team.

With the two-year contract he signed when he joined the club last summer due to expire at the end of the season, the Reds need to think about getting him tied down to a new deal.

Ben Watson

Ben Watson has been excellent for Nottingham Forest so far this season. The 34-year-old has played every minute of every game in the Championship so far and has already scored a couple of goals.

The experienced midfielder has already played more league games for Forest than he did in the whole of last season and Lamouchi has really been able to get the best out him.

He's a real leader on the pitch and has made a very good captain in the absence of Michael Dawson. With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Forest should seriously consider offering an extension.

Michael Dawson

Even though he's missed the last few games for Forest, there's no denying that Michael Dawson has been one of the standout players for the Reds this season.

The 35-year-old was excellent for the Reds before suffering an injury and formed a great partnership with Joe Worrall. He's a brilliant captain, a real leader on the pitch and sets a great example to the younger players at the club.

If Forest win promotion this season, having a player with his knowledge and experience in the squad could be key - even if he doesn't play that many games in the Premier League.

The defender is real fans' favourite at the City Ground, but his contract is set to expire at the end of the season, so Forest might want to consider offering him a new deal.
