Norwich City are preparing for the upcoming season back in the familiar territory of the Sky Bet Championship after their spirited decline from the pinnacle of the English game last season.

Although they are coming off the back of an unsuccessful season, there is much to be optimistic about around the Norfolk club.

They have got a manager in Alex Neil, who knows what it takes to get the club out of the Championship, and have a plethora of players at the club who have been promoted out of the division before.

However, the club definitely have some frailties to address as they prepare for the upcoming campaign and, with a defence that conceded 67 league goals last season, they definitely need a reshuffle at the back.

Also, starlet Nathan Redmond has left the club after three years and joined Southampton on a five-year deal.

Norwich need players to solidify their promotion bid, and Premier League giants Manchester United definitely have excess players at the club that could benefit the Canaries.

Here, FootballLeagueWorld writer Jack Sharp identifies THREE players that Norwich City should cherry-pick from Manchester United...

Josh Doughty

Doughty is a 19-year-old Canadian born player who could prove to be a shrewd replacement for Nathan Redmond at Norwich.

The player has been described as an inside forward, and is able to play as a winger also.

He joined United from the academy of Real Salt Lake in 2012, and since then has developed in Warren Joyce's prestigious academy at the club, moving from the Under-18's to the Under-21's this year.

When speaking about Doughty, the Canadian men's Under-20 manager said:

'He's very light of foot, a very technical player. Great in close quarters. He's almost in that Berbatov mould'.

The fact he's been described as an inside player and a player in the mould of Berbatov shows the versatility of the player who shone in the MLS youth championship.

He may be a gamble, but he could be a great player for Neil's side for the upcoming campaign.

Tyler Blackett

blackett

Blackett is a central defender of 22 years of age. He has been a professional at United since 2014, and has been capped for England at Under-21 level.

However, Blackett was left out of United's pre-season tour to China, and it seems clear that new boss Jose Mourinho will allow the 6 foot centre-back to leave the club where he has made 43 Under-21 appearances and 12 senior appearances.

United's loss could be Norwich's gain however, as the defender could be the perfect man to solidify a Canaries' defence that was the joint second worst in the Premier League last campaign.

Adnan Januzaj

This one could be seen as slightly audacious, yet with Norwich having money to spend and Januzaj looking like he wouldn't make the United starting eleven under Mourinho, this move could be a great one for both parties.

The versatile 21-year-old has shown glimpses of greatness in his time as a United player, scoring five goals and assisting a further six in the 53 senior appearances he has made for the club.

However, he was shipped out on loan to German giants Borussia Dortmund last term, and the Belgian international is reportedly going to be sent out on loan again this season by new manager Mourinho.

With no sign of a competitive first team opportunity at the Red Devils' in sight, Januzaj and Norwich could be a perfect match.

Norwich fans... what do you think about these suggestions? Do you take a gamble on Doughty? Would Blackett solidify your defence? Would Januzaj be a perfect replacement for Redmond? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
