Since getting relegated from the Premier League last season, Newcastle United have wasted no time in building a squad for next season.

They've brought in Matz Sels, Grant Hanley, Jesus Gamez, Isaac Hayden, Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle in what has been some sensational business from Rafa Benitez, but there are still a few more gaps that he may want to fill.

They are one of the favourites for the league title, as most teams who are relegated from the top flight the previous season are, with Norwich and Aston Villa also on there, plus Brighton, Derby and Sheffield Wednesday the best of the rest from last season.

Whether or not it can be seen as an 'honour', but Newcastle will open the whole football season with a trip to Fulham on Friday 5th August.

They back that up with the visits of Huddersfield and Reading to St James's Park, now the biggest stadium in the Championship.

Here, in the opinion of FLW's Ryan Evans, are THREE players that Newcastle should loan in before their first match away to Fulham.....

Alex Pritchard

Alex PritchardAlex Pritchard

The 23-year old appeared once for Tottenham before injury last season, and only twice on loan at West Brom since returning from that lay-off.

However, his excellent performances for Brentford in the 2014-15 season still live long in the memory of many football fans, where he scored 12 goals and created seven more during his 47 appearances at Griffin Park as he helped the Bees get to the play-off.

Pritchard played primarily as an attacking midfielder for the Bees that season, although can cover on either wing. He represents one of the most promising youngsters in the English pyramid, and is, when at his best, one of the most exciting players to watch.

He's only played twice for Tottenham since signing his first professional contract in 2011, and Mauricio Pochettino has said he can find a new club, either on loan or permanently.

Swansea are looking at an £8 million swoop, but the Magpies, Norwich and Leeds are also said to be interested in signing him on loan, which may suit the club best.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson

The Manchester United left-back broke onto the scene last season for his side, covering for injuries of Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Ashley Young in that department.

He played ten times in the Premier League, a solitary appearance in the Champions League and nine more for the Under-21s.

With Luke Shaw back after an injury lay-off for the vast majority of the last campaign and Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Ashley Young also able to play left-back, Borthwick-Jackson is unlikely to get too much first-team football next season, and it was reported that, after the 19-year old picked up a groin strain that kept him out of the club's pre-season tour to China, he could be shipped out on loan.

A loan spell to a top quality Championship side would be exactly what Borthwick-Jackson needs, and with Massadio Haidara injured they have Paul Dummett as their only left-back, so Borthwick-Jackson would be a great addition to their side in a position that needs reinforcing.

Serge Gnabry

The 21-year old has 18 appearances for Arsenal, and had a loan spell last season at West Bromwich Albion.

He has also been capped at Under-21 level for Germany, and is a very talented winger who can operate on either wing.

He is unlikely to get a game for Arsenal this term, with Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott, Danny Welbeck, Alex Iwobi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all ahead of him in that department, and a loan spell to the Championship seems most obvious. The pace that Gnabry possesses can cause problems at this level, and he works hard going backwards as well.
