Newcastle are enduring a difficult season in the Premier League with manager Steve McClaren and owner Mike Ashley coming in for a lot of criticism.

They have a massive squad and have spent a lot of money in both transfer windows, as they find themselves fighting off relegation, and they currently find themselves in the relegation zone on goal difference.

Players like Georginio Wijnaldum and Aleksandar Mitrovic have been the only shining light for them this season, but most of their signings have been flops.

Due to the large squad size there are plenty of good players who are not getting game time, causing anger and a lack of harmony at Newcastle.

If Newcastle do get relegated it is likely that there will be a large clearout at St James Park, so it might be a good time to loan out some of the players who aren't going to get first team football to the Championship, in the hope it may consolidate a permanent move.

Here are THREE Newcastle players the club need to loan out to the Championship before the March 24th deadline in the emergency loan window.......

Karl Darlow

The former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper was involved in double swoop by Newcastle, when they signed him and Lascelles from Nottingham Forest.

He is third in the pecking order though at Newcastle as Tim Krul is the number one, and one of the few players Newcastle have that are consistent so is unlikely to be dropped.

Rob Elliot seems to be above Darlow in the pecking order so the 25-year-old should probably seek a move away.

A loan move to the Championship where he impressed last season would be the logical step for Darlow, and maybe even a return to Nottingham Forest.

Yoan Gouffran

The Frenchman has long been linked with a move away, and in the summer and winter he was heavily linked with a number of top Championship sides.

The Frenchman has been inconsistent for Newcastle, but a regular starter in his first couple of seasons but this season he has been dropped in favour of a more vibrant midfield.

With the ability to play up top and on the wings who would bolster most attacking lines in the Championship.

Emmanuel Riviere

The Frenchman joined a long line of French players signed by Newcastle in recent transfer windows, but has failed to make an impression.

Newcastle have a very large striking department and they usually only play one up front with Mitrovic and Perez preferred to Riviere, with even Papiss Cisse above him in the pecking order.

He had an impressive few seasons in France with Monaco and Toulouse, but has been dropped for the majority of this season and a drop down to the Championship may be needed, because if he can prove he can manage at this level he may be a useful asset for Newcastle if they are to get relegated.
