Leeds United are not going up nor down this season, with the January transfer window open, teams are looking to balance the books and/or recruit some fresh players.

Leeds are 15th in the Championship table  they have a sizeable cushion between them and the bottom three, and they do not look like a side that will go down.

Leeds have some exciting talent on their books at Elland Road, which are being coveted by many clubs from the Premier League and the Championship and beyond.

So the question is should Leeds think about cashing in on some of the talent in the squad, to purchase new players and try to return Leeds United back into top flight football?

Here are THREE players we think Leeds should consider cashing in on during this January transfer window......

Mirco Antenucci

There is interest from Italy in the Leeds Forward, at 31, he is no spring chicken, so why not take the transfer on offer and re-coup what you can on an ageing player.

Save his wages and use what funds they receive, to invest in young vibrant talent, the likes of Oxford United's Kemar Roofe or Tom Bradshaw from Walsall could be astute signings.

Antenucci has scored just five goals in 25 matches this season for United, and if Leeds want to make an impact in the Championship, the forward needs to be scoring more than that.

Sam Byram

Much speculation has surrounded the young player, with West Ham and Everton are leading the race to get his signature.

Everton are preparing a £3million bid to tempt him away from Elland Road this month.

The versatile youngster, can play in numerous positions, right-back, right midfield and right-wing is part of the reason he is in high demand.

Leeds might want to cash in and add a sell on clause and get paid twice as much for this very talented player.

Byram is talented and if I were a Leeds fan I would want him to stay, but sometimes you need to take the money and re-invest.

Souleymane Doukara

The 24-year-old French forward has played 14 times for the Elland Road club, and has netted just two goals.

With the lack of goals and sometimes lacklustre performances, moving him out of Elland Road, to bring in a fresh face or two is the way to go.

Goals are required to progress up the Championship table and unfortunately he is not prolific enough, and it's hard to justify not cashing in on this player during the January transfer window.

Leeds fans have your say.........Would you let these players go for the right price? Who should you get to replace them? What is the long term goal for Leeds United? Leave your comments below!
