Leeds United may be in the midst of a race for automatic promotion to the Premier League, but manager Marcelo Bielsa is still likely to be casting one eye over the summer transfer window.

The Whites slipped out of the Sky Bet Championship automatic promotion spots at the weekend, losing 1-0 to Birmingham City at St. Andrew's, with just six games left to play this season.

It is shaping up to be a hugely eventful and tense end to the season for the Yorkshire club, but this hasn't stopped Marcelo Bielsa from casting one eye over potential summer transfer business.

Reading's John Swift and Everton's Yannick Bolasie are just a couple of names that have been linked with a move to Elland Road, whilst Swansea's Dan James continues to be the topic of conversation after his failed January move.

Leeds' latest scouting mission has taken them to League One, with reports claiming that scouts from Elland Road were present at the Ricoh Arena on Sunday afternoon, to see Coventry play out a 0-0 draw with Bristol Rovers.

The game may have been drab, but there were still plenty of talented individuals on show, and here, we take a look at three players Leeds may well have been monitoring ahead of the summer...

Jonson Clarke-Harris

It wouldn't be surprising if Leeds were monitoring Clarke-Harris at the weekend.

The 24-year old has recently attracted the interest of Preston North End and Hull City after an incredible scoring run of late.

The Rovers forward has scored nine goals in his last 10 league outings, and brings real pace and presence up top.

The addition of another striker at Elland Road certainly wouldn't go amiss, and anybody who is doubting the forward's ability to make the step-up should look at how Kemar Roofe has turned out since joining from Oxford United.

Luke Thomas

Thomas has endured a hugely impressive loan spell with Coventry this season, and is another player who Leeds may have been looking at.

The Derby County youngster has scored five goals and produced four assists for the Sky Blues this term, and will be hoping that he has done enough to force his way into Frank Lampard's first-team plans for next season.

Leeds are in the market for a new winger, and the 20-year could be one for the future.

Tom Bayliss

Bayliss is one of the most promising players in League One, and is another exciting player who may have alerted interest from the Whites.

The midfielder, who can play in defensive midfield or further forward, played an influential role in the Sky Blues' promotion from League Two last term.

The 20-year old has scored three goals and produced three assists this season, and was very impressive at the weekend.
