Fulham have started the Sky Bet Championship season fairly well thanks to an unbeaten run during the opening month of the 2016/17 campaign.

This includes 11 points from a possible 15 in the Championship and progression to the EFL Cup Third Round, where they'll host Bristol City.

However, Fulham supporters may feel they still needed a few more signings on deadline day, despite the arrivals of Scotland international Chris Martin and Brazilian playmaker Lucas Piazon on season-long loan deals on Wednesday.

Here, FootballLeagueWorld writer Ryan White identifies THREE players the Cottagers should have signed on transfer deadline day to add depth to their squad...

Hal Robson-Kanu

After his heroics with his national team Wales at the European Championships earlier this summer, it is a bit odd that Hal Robson-Kanu was without a club until deadline day.

The forward eventually signed for Premier League side West Bromwich Albion, but had a handful of Championship clubs after him.

If the Fulham board showed some ambition and determination to perhaps challenge for promotion, then they should have gone for Robson-Kanu, who would have added fire power upfront for the Craven Cottage outfit.

Junior Hoilett

Junior Hoilett is surprisingly a free agent at the moment after leaving Queens Park Rangers during the summer.

Still only 26 years-old, Hoilett would offer a lot of pace in Fulham's side going forward, adding to the likes of Sone Aluko at the London club, who already brings pace to the side.

The Canadian can still be signed outside the transfer window but, if Fulham wanted to excite their fans even more, then the deal should have been completed on deadline day.

Joey O'Brien

The 30-year-old was released by Premier League side West Ham United and is still without a club.

O'Brien, the only defender in this article, would bring more defensive solidity to the Fulham squad.

Slaviša Jokanović's team have been excellent going forward, putting them second in the Championship going in to the international break, but they still seem to be leaking goals every now and then.

O'Brien would strengthen the back and would stop the opposition from turning a loss into a draw against Fulham.

He can play right-back and left-back, so would be a versatile option for the Cottagers. He also offers experience as well, with numerous top-flight games under his belt.
