Derby County made two signings on deadline day, doubling the number of new signings they have brought in this summer.

Watford winger Ikechi Anya arrived for an undisclosed fee, before goalkeeper Chris Weale arrived at the iPro Stadium following Lee Grant's departure. Striker Chris Martin also left Derby to join Fulham on loan.

These signings join frontmen James Wilson, who has arrived on loan from Manchester United, and Matej Vydra, who was signed for £8 million from Watford.

Derby County haven't had a very good start to the 2016/17 season, with new boss Nigel Pearson only seeing his side win one game in the league. The Rams also embarrassingly lost away games to Barnsley and Burton Albion, where they were strong favourites to win.

Derby fans have not seen a goal at the iPro Stadium in the league this season, with both home games ending in goalless draws.

Over the summer, Pearson's side were linked with many players, but in the end only signed four.

Here, FootballLeagueWorld writer Rob Booth identifies THREE players that Derby should've signed on deadline day...

Albert Adomah

Albert Adomah was the subject of a deadline day move, but it wasn't to Derby.

The Ghanaian winger, who had scored 28 goals for Middlesbrough since 2013 - helping them to promotion last season, joined Aston Villa.

Adomah is a powerful winger who can beat players and create chances. He's one of the best wingers at Championship level and will be a great signing for the Villains.

However, Derby did sign Ikechi Anya, another wide player who has experience in both the Championship and Premier League.

Andre Wisdom

Like Adomah, Andre Wisdom also moved clubs on deadline day.

The 23-year-old left Liverpool for Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg on loan. Wisdom had a loan spell with Derby in 2013/14, where he made 34 league appearances and helped the Rams to the play-off final.

Wisdom, who has also had loan spells in the Premier League with West Brom and Norwich City, was a fan favourite at the iPro Stadium, and many fans wanted him to return.

Derby failed to sign a full-back during the summer window, meaning Cyrus Christie is the only recognised right-back in the first team, although new signing Anya and Chris Baird can play in that position.

Jordan Rhodes

Jordan Rhodes was linked with numerous clubs on deadline day, but stayed at the Riverside Stadium.

Rhodes is one of the best goalscorers the Championship has seen in recent years but, since going up to the Premier League, he hasn't made a single appearance, leading to rumours about a potential exit.

The striker scored 83 goals in 159 league games for Blackburn, before bagging six in 18 as Middlesbrough won promotion on the final day.

Despite signing Wilson and Vydra, fans expected another striker to come in following Chris Martin's exit, and Rhodes would've been a great signing.
