Steve Bruce was relieved of his duties as Aston Villa manager on Wednesday and there have been a number of potential candidates being linked with the job such as Thierry Henry, Claudio Ranieri and Dean Smith.

Each of those managers bring different qualities to teams and Smith might be considered as a stronger candidate, given his experience in Championship football with a Brentford side that have been challenging for the top six since they were promoted.

With Brentford boss Dean Smith being linked with the Aston Villa job, we look at who he'll need to sign in order to help Villa reach a top six finish.

Find out who those players are here....

Maupay has been an integral part of Smith's Brentford side this season and Smith may be tempted to bring the 22-year-old to Villa Park.

He has scored nine goals in as many starts for Brentford this season, as the Bees currently sit 6th in the table, only five points off top spot and this is largely thanks to Maupay's excellent form.

Moore was subject of interest from Premier League side Brighton in the summer but talks fell through and the defender signed a new deal with the Royals, but with their poor start to the season, Moore could be tempted with a move to Aston Villa, should the clubs agree what is likely to be a hefty release clause.

Moore would be the perfect defensive partner for James Chester with his speed and aerial presence.

The West Ham man has been out of favour this season, being restricted to to just three starts in all competitions this season. Snodgrass has been previously linked to Villa, having been subject of speculation in the summer.

The winger will be hopeful of securing first team football in the future and Aston Villa could be a potential destination for him.
