Cardiff manager Paul Trollope will be hopeful that after last season's semi-successful campaign under Russell Slade, he can build on the success and push Cardiff City into the Play-Offs this coming season.

However, the Bluebirds can't compete with the financial might of Newcastle, Aston Villa and Chinese consortium-funded Wolves, so Trollope will likely have to dabble into the loan market if he wants to bring in some fresh faces before the new season starts next Saturday.

The Bluebirds already have one of the Championship's most consistent goalkeepers in David Marshall, who is also their captain, and are stacked in the striker department, with Anthony Pilkington and Federico Macheda set to battle new signing Frederic Gounongbe for a starting berth.

The defence could do with a couple of new additions though, as could the wide department.

Here are THREE players Cardiff City should look to loan in before their first league match rolls around next Saturday.

Michael Hector

The towering Jamaican centre-half joined Chelsea from Reading on transfer deadline day in January, but after new Blues boss Antonio Conte has assessed the squad, it is clear that Hector won't play a large role this season.

Hector has considerable experience at Championship level considering his age, and he could be a solid option to play alongside Bruno Ecuele Manga at the heart of the Cardiff defence this season.

Bersant Celina

Manchester City's talented 19-year-old playmaker could be the perfect loan signing for Paul Trollope's Cardiff side.

Quick, agile with an eye for goal, Celina has impressed at the Manchester City youth set-up with some excellent performances, and after representing Norway at every level, he has been rewarded with 3 caps for the Kosovo national side, for whom he has scored once.

Pep Guardiola will be willing to send him out on loan this season, and Cardiff could be the perfect destination.

Josh Onomah

The 19-year-old Tottenham Hotspur wonder kid earned rave reviews with Spurs' youth sides last season, and even made 7 first team appearances and he climbed up the pecking order at the North London club.

However, with more and more money available to Premier League clubs, Onomah's opportunities will be limited next season, and he would fit perfectly into Cardiff's system.

Dele Alli proved that sometimes lower league football can be beneficial before stepping up to the top level.
