Cardiff manager Paul Trollope will be hopeful that after last season’s semi-successful campaign under Russell Slade, he can build on the success and push Cardiff City into the Play-Offs this coming season.
However, the Bluebirds can’t compete with the financial might of Newcastle, Aston Villa and Chinese consortium-funded Wolves, so Trollope will likely have to dabble into the loan market if he wants to bring in some fresh faces before the new season starts next Saturday.
The Bluebirds already have one of the Championship’s most consistent goalkeepers in David Marshall, who is also their captain, and are stacked in the striker department, with Anthony Pilkington and Federico Macheda set to battle new signing Frederic Gounongbe for a starting berth.
The defence could do with a couple of new additions though, as could the wide department.
Here are THREE players Cardiff City should look to loan in before their first league match rolls around next Saturday.
