Burnley secured promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking after they beat QPR 1-0 at Turf Moor on Bank holiday Monday.

A Sam Vokes goal guaranteed the Clarets could not be caught by neither Brighton nor Middlesbrough, who are set for a final day show-down in what promises to be a dramatic final day.

With this news it seems that Burnley have as good as wrapped up the title, with one more game to play away at The Valley this Saturday.

Burnley seem to be in a healthier position than they were two years ago, with the likes of Andre Gray and Joey Barton being crucial in their return to the big time.

The Clarets now need to reinvest in the squad for the Summer transfer window and Football League World writer Ryan Gaffney will assess the areas of improvement for the East Lancashire club.

Oliver Norwood

norwoooood

Just the ideal central midfielder that any club would love to have.

Norwood offers solid defensive contribution, a keen eye for goal from long range and killer passes which Burnley would desire to improve their poor possession football.

The Northern Ireland international has had a stand out season for Reading, making a total of 42 appearances for the royals scoring 3 goals and assisting 8 times since arriving from Huddersfield in the Summer of August 2014.

The 25-year-old is highly regarded by Reading and this may hinder the process of signing the former Manchester United youngster, but with Norwood beginning his football career in Manchester this  could also be an important factor which would encourage Oliver to move to East Lancashire

The former Huddersfield man would make a perfect partner for Joey Barton, and could easily slot in to the Burnley team if given the opportunity to step up to the Premier League with the clarets.

Norwood has recently been linked with a move to Bournemouth  according to Sky Sports but could still be snapped up by Burnley if they declare interest.

Alan Judge

Alan JudgeAlan Judge

Despite sustaining a horrific leg break, Burnley had already declared their interest in Alan Judge previously in the January transfer window, when Brentford rejected a bid from the Clarets for the Republic of Ireland star.

The Brentford man has been a stand out player of the season for the bees achieving a staggering feat of 14 goals and 11 assists. The Irish playmaker offers brilliant counter attacking pace, key passes, good dribbling and substantial adaptiblity that would see the Dubliner easily slotting into Sean Dyche's team  if given the opportunity to make the step up to England's top tier.

Alan Judge finished runner up at the Football League awards missing out to a more than worthy winner in Andre Gray, who was formerly Judge's colleague at Brentford.

Dean Smith has already expressed the sheer importance of Alan Judge to the Bees but with Burnley already convincing Andre Gray and James Tarkowski to the north, it wouldn't be impossible for Burnley to agree a reasonable fee with Brentford - however with Judge set for a big spell on the sidelines it would most likely cease to happen until Judge rehabilitates from his injury.

Jordan Pickford

The Sunderland shotstopper spent the early part of the season on loan at Lancashire rivals Preston North End.

Despite leaving the Lilywhites in January, Pickford was highly regarded by Preston fans and had many admirers in the Championship for his great shotstopping reflexes plus significant ability to come out on top in 1-on-1's.

Pickford made one appearance for Sunderland but doesn't seem to be part of Sam Allerdyce's plans to be featuring as a first team goalkeeper.

The 22-year-old would have stiff competition for veteran keeper Tom Heaton for the number one shirt, but evidently Pickford has already illustrated his potential, and could be a more than adequate replacement for Burnley's number one if Heaton was to sustain injury or if he was ever to depart.
