Liverpool are blessed with talented players right throughout their first team into the reserve squad, and are renowned for having one of the best academies in the business.

They have brought many talented individuals through their ranks and into the first team such as local lads Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher for example.

With such strength in depth comes a dilemma, many of their talented younger players are unlikely to be able to force their way above the multi million pound signings in the pecking order, and many will leave the club without ever playing a game for the first team.

This article takes a look at three youngsters who have the potential to be future stars at Anfield and could benefit from going out on loan to Championship side Bristol City, and benefit from the experience of Championship football...

Sheyi Ojo

Liverpool beat off numerous top European clubs to gain the signature of a 14-year-old Sheyi Ojo from MK Dons.

Ojo is a top talent and someone who has bags and bags of potential, Ojo has already been recognised on the international scene having earned caps for the England national team at under 16, 17, 18 and 19 level.

At the age of 19 Ojo has made 41 senior appearances, most of which have come during two loan spells at Wolverhampton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic.

During the 2014-2015 season Ojo had a spell with Championship side Wigan Athletic where he gained his first taste of competitive first team football, where he made 11 appearances, in the next season he spent time on loan at Wolves where he made 19 appearances scoring 2 goals.

Ojo can play on either flank or behind the striker and would provide competition for places in the Bristol City squad and would add a willingness to run with the ball, and a creative spark that they were lacking last season.

Tiago Ilori

Ilori

Tiago Ilori had a very disappointing campaign last season, at the start of the season he was loaned to Premier League side Aston Villa, however this loan spell was cut short after he failed to make a single appearance, in a side that was slumping to one of their worst campaigns in the history of the club.

Following the cancellation of his loan spell at Aston Villa he did appear three times for the Liverpool team appearing three times in the FA Cup.

Following the disappointment of last season, Ilori may be required to drop down a level to the Championship to prove his worth and get some game time and confidence under his belt.

Bristol City often played three centre backs last season and therefore Ilori could be confident of the opportunity of breaking into the side, and getting first team opportunities at Ashton Gate.

Ilori does have undoubted potential he has just failed to live up to it so far in his time in England, he has been capped by the Portugal national team at under 18, 19, 20, 21 and 23 level.

Cameron Brannagan

Cameron Brannagan

Brannagan is seen as someone who has undoubted potential and is rated extremely highly by all at Anfield.

Brannagan has been at the club since the age of 5 and has made 9 first team appearances for the club, 3 of which have come in the Premier League, he has also made 2 appearances in the Europa League.

He is a midfielder with great creative and technical ability who can play in either a deep role or more forward role just behind the striker.

He is a player who can dictate the tempo of play and possessed great passing ability and vision.

Brannagan would be an excellent addition to the Bristol City midfield and would add a creative spark and flair to the team that was missing last season.

Brannagan would benefit greatly from the first team experience gained while at Ashton Gate and a loan move could be beneficial for both parties.
