Latest reports have emerged that Nottingham Forest want to speak to West Bromwich Albion's Ben Garner regarding their vacant manager's position.

Garner is currently employed as Baggies assistant head coach and previously worked under manager Tony Pulis at Crystal Palace, and looks to be the most realistic option for the Reds.

He is said to be one of a number of candidates being considered by Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi, who remains in control after failing to sell the East Midlands club to an American consortium this month.

Forest are in serious jeopardy in the Sky Bet Championship table, hovering just 5 points above the relegation zone in 19th place.

With the January transfer window drawing ever closer to an end, here, FLW writer George Harbey identifies THREE players that Ben Garner should look to sign if he is appointed as the new Nottingham Forest boss...

Jonathan Leko

The first addition that Garner should look to bring in is West Bromwich Albion starlet Jonathan Leko.

The 17-year old looks to be a future star, having impressed at the Hawthorns making 11 appearances to date.

The powerful winger would be a fantastic asset for Garner and the Reds, and the Baggies' coach will know him very well after his time at the Midlands club.

Aaron Tshibola (Loan)

After the Reds' captain Henri Lansbury recently departed the City Ground for Aston Villa, someone who would be a shrewd replacement is his team-mate Tshibola, who would probably come in on a loan move.

Having found his game time limited under Steve Bruce, the midfielder, who arrived at Villa Park in the summer from Reading, would be a major asset for the Reds in the middle of the park.

The 22-year old would certainly shore up a Forest side that have been leaking goals this season, and steer them away from the drop zone.

Ross McCormack

Another player also looking ever likely to leave Villa Park is none other than McCormack.

The 30-year old arrived at the Midlands club with a high reputation, what with a glowing goalscoring record in the Championship and a £12million fee on his shoulders.

But since then, the Scotsman has only scored twice in 18 games for the Midlands club, and looks likely to depart after an argument with Bruce.

Forest need a goalscorer, and could definitely lure him to the City Ground.
