Millwall have had a slow start to the new season winning just twice in their opening dozen matches.

Their latest victory came this past weekend when they came back from a goal down to beat Aston Villa at The Den.

Three points on that occasion lifted Neil Harris’ men out of the bottom three and up to 20th ahead of the international break.

Millwall have won twice and drawn four times, losing six in the first quarter of the new campaign.

There have been several reasons as to why the Lions have not been as prolific as they were last season, but as many of the clubs fans will testify, they are usually slow starters.

Harris stated he has not looked at the free agent market and trusts his current squad of players to register improved performances and results

But, with and a busy period set to come after the two-week break, there could be scope to add a player or two to bulk out what is a relatively thin squad.

With that said, we here at FLW take a look at three players available on a free right now that Millwall should be eyeing.

The experienced defender has been without a club since he left Norwich in the summer and with the Lions leaking so many goals, he could come in handy.

The former Premier League captain with the Canaries would add a great deal of experience to a Millwall side currently suffering with a void of confidence at the back.

Despite their most recent win and a positive pair of results, they are still leaking goals regularly, and Martin could help stem the flow.

Since George Saville left the club, the Lions have lacked a small creative spark in the middle of the pitch.

Ryan Leonard is performing excellently, but he is not as creative as what the former Lions man was.

That might change, but right now, Millwall lack that creative spark, and it is something Mark Davies could well bring.

Once touted for a move to a top-end Premier League cup the midfielder opted to stay with Bolton.

Neil Harris is adept at getting the best out of players who have fallen away and he could do precisely that with Davies should be he interested.

Still only 25-years-old and without a club, this could be a long-term investment on a free transfer.

It would be a relatively inexpensive deal, and he is a defensive minded midfielder who could be solid cover for Shaun Williams.

Williams is the go-to man when Millwall want to be calm in possession and Ince could occupy that role in the Irishman’s absence.

It is a low-risk addition and could work out, as Neil Harris can get players playing at a level they once were even if it has been a while since they have played to their peak.
