Young players from the Premier League are always dipping into the Football League every season on loan, as clubs look to give their youth players a chance to improve.

These loan deals don't only give them a chance to improve due to first-team opportunities but it also gives them a chance to gain valuable game-playing experience.

Aston Villa were relegated from the Premier League last season in a season where they finished rock-bottom, collecting just 17 points.

Roberto Di Matteo has improved the sides defence with Tommy Elphick joining from AFC Bournemouth and goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini from Hellas Verona.

However, one area of the field that they need to improve on is in the attacking areas. The side scored just 27 goals last campaign and if Villa want to get themselves back into the top tier then they will need to bring in some attacking players.

FLW writer Tom Rawcliffe chooses THREE players who Aston Villa should look to cherry-pick from Arsenal...

Serge Gnabry

Since joining the club in 2011, he has made 18 professional appearances for The Gunners.

Last season, the German U21 international spent time on loan with West Brom but during his disappointing spell with The Baggies, he played just three games.

The 21-year-old has shown glimpses of his potential throughout his career but he is yet to shine. A loan move to the Championship could be exactly what the speedy winger needs and Aston Villa may be the place to try, especially with Carles Gil expected to leave.

Stephy Mavididi

England U18 international Mavididi had an incredible season for the Arsenal U21 squad during the last campaign as he scored 13 goals in 19 matches.

As an 18-year-old, he is still very new to the game but his potent finishing shows that he clearly has the potential to go far.

Aston Villa are after a striker this summer and whilst they will still need to also sign an experienced permanent forward, they could also consider signing this very promising striker on loan.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles

Another winger who The Villains could look at signing could be this England U19 international

The 18-year-old is the most experienced player on the list as he has previous experience in the Sky Bet Championship with Mick McCarthy's Ipswich Town.

He featured 32 times for The Tractor Boys, impressing his manager. His performances have convinced McCarthy to try to re-sign Maitland-Niles but Villa could attempt to hijack the deal.

He is also currently in Germany representing England in the U19 European Championships.
