A very important couple of weeks lie ahead for Derby County, as the Rams prepare to reclaim a spot in the Sky Bet Championship playoff places.

The Rams, who sit just outside of the top six on goal difference after a 2-1 home win against Swansea, travel to Wigan Athletic this Saturday, before a crunch match at home to arch rivals Nottingham Forest the week after.

It was a hugely important victory for Frank Lampard's men last weekend, as an emphatic brace from Harry Wilson secured Derby's third win in five games to put them within touching distance of the playoff positions.

Wilson has been magnificent for the Rams since his loan arrival from Liverpool in the summer, and the 21-year old is now on eight goals and two assists for the campaign, closely followed by another loanee, Chelsea's Mason Mount, who has five goals to his name this term.

Due to the success of the loan pair at Pride Park this season, here, we take a look at three Premier League youngsters that Frank Lampard should target for Derby County...

Chelsea's Hudson-Odoi would be the most obvious shout - the electric winger is one of the brighest prospects in the top flight and would be such a big coup for the Rams.

The 18-year old recently marked his first start of the season with a goal, in Chelsea's 4-0 Europa League victory over PAOK last week, and is bound to be attracting interest in January.

Reports have recently suggested that Hudson-Odoi is reluctant to drop down to the Championship, but with Lampard's strong connections with Chelsea, the Rams definitely have the upper hand in this one.

Keeping tabs on life at Stamford Bridge, Ethan Ampadu should be another player on Lampard's radar.

The Welsh defender has made just one appearance for the Blues this season, and could be open to a loan move in January for him to gain valuable game-time.

Lampard was reportedly keen on returning to his old stomping ground to sign Ampadu at the start of the summer, and he should definitely go back in for the 18-year old in January.

Should a move for Ampadu fail to materialise, then West Ham's Reece Oxford should definitely be of interest to Lampard.

The 19-year old has been frozen out at West Ham having endured two promising loan spells at Borussia Monchengladbach over the last two years, with Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini admitting that it would be best for him to depart the London Stadium.

Once regarded as one of England's brightest prospects, the 6-foot-3 defender would be a huge asset for Lampard's men, and could be a long-term replacement for the aging Richard Keogh and Curtis Davies.
