It's been a summer of change at Reading this summer, with new a new manager and plenty of new faces on show too.

Former playing great Jaap Stam has taken the reigns at the Madejski in his first senior managerial role and with him he has brought a whole host of new players, who he hopes can see the Royals challenge in the Championship this season.

His side got off to a good start against Preston last weekend, overcoming Simon Grayson's side 1-0 at home before beating Plymouth Argyle in the EFL cup on Tuesday night.

So all in all its been a great start for the Dutchman in his tenure in Berkshire, but with the transfer window still open for business, are there a few players he should be targeting to help him target promotion?

Of course there are, and here are THREE Premier League players that Reading should snap up this summer....

Modou Barrow

Barrow

Barrow is a young Gambian who plays his football with Swansea City. A pacy, skillful winger, he has had Championship loan moves in the past, with the likes of Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers.

He's highly regarded in Wales and many have tipped him for great things in the future but right now, he needs games to aid his development.

Serge Gnabry

Another pacy winger come midfielder, Serge Gnabry really is a youngster whom so much more was expected from at this stage in his career.

He was tipped for great things at Arsenal when he broke through back in 2012, but we are still waiting to see the best from the German, who is competing at the Olympics this summer.

At 21, he's still got plenty of time to show Gunners fans what he can do, and what better way than by making a loan move to Reading. He would learn the art of being a professional from Jaap Stam- perhaps the best defender the Premier League has ever seen.

Diego Poyet

When your father was such a good player and manager, the pressure must be on just a little bit.

But the professional career of Diego Poyet is ticking along quite nicely and the Uruguayan now finds himself at West Ham, but struggling to get into the first team.

Much like Gnabry and Barrow, the best thing for Poyet would be to get some more first-team action in a lower division.

He's spent time in the second tier with Charlton Athletic and MK Dons but a move to Reading would do nothing but improve his chances of breaking through at West Ham later in his career.
