Leeds United fans will be stunned by the latest development of the future of Samuel Saiz, with reports from Spanish media outlet, Marca, suggesting that the Spaniard is set to join Getafe in the next 24 hours.

News first broke that Saiz was eyeing a move away from Elland Road on Thursday evening, as the Yorkshire Evening Post, reported that the 27-year-old was unhappy with life at Leeds, and that his partner had similar feelings on life in England.

The Spaniard has made 15 starts for the Whites in the Championship this season, but has fallen out of favour in the midfield ranks in Marcelo Bielsa's side in recent weeks.

That lack of game time has seen Saiz supposedly voice his concerns over his future at the club, and the accelerating progress that seems to be made in his move to Getafe is surprising to say the least.

Leeds supporters will be hoping that Bielsa can bring in a replacement for Saiz who played a starring role in their season last year, and it's important that the Argentine finds a replacement quickly, so that they can help play a part in their promotion bid this season.

But, what options are available to the Leeds boss in January as he looks to replace Saiz?

Find out here....

Dowell could be the perfect replacement for Saiz, as he is already proven in the Championship and will be looking for regular game time in January when the transfer window reopens.

He is still with Everton but is yet to make a league appearance for the Premier League side, but was a regular for Nottingham Forest last season and chipped in with some important goals last year.

Dowell could be the creative spark that Marcelo Bielsa needs in his side.

Sawyers is surely set to move from Brentford in January, with Aston Villa already reportedly interested in signing him, according to Football Insider.

But, Leeds could be tempted to make an offer for the attacking midfielder who has already proven that he can be a real threat for any team in the Championship.

It could cost a hefty fee to tempt Brentford to sell, but it would be worth it in the long run, with Sawyers being one of the standout players in the Championship on his day.

Gomez has been linked with Leeds throughout the season and it remains to be seen as to whether the Whites will make a formal bid for the midfielder, who is likely to attract interest as the transfer window edges ever-closer.

He can play on either wing or in the central attacking midfield role that Saiz often plays, so he would be the most likely contender to replace Saiz if he is to leave for Getafe.
