Ipswich Town remain rock bottom of the Championship with relegation looking increasingly inevitable week after week.

Paul Lambert took charge in October after 15 games, and in the 16 he has managed, Town have picked up the same amount of points as his dismissed predecessor.

Now, there is nothing to suggest he has not improved anything since he has been at the club, but the main thing that is not getting better is results.

Ipswich are ten points adrift of safety and need a miracle if they are to stay up.

Dropping down to League One could spell curtains for the current boss who would have failed in his remit to keep them up.

If Lambert was to be sacked or leaves upon confirmation of relegation, these THREE managers should be looked at as a matter of urgency.

Mark Warburton

The former Brentford and Rangers boss got the Bees to the Championship play-off semi-finals during his time at the club and has been out of work since leaving Nottingham Forest in 2018.

Time out of the game will allow him to reflect on what went wrong and try to correct it. Warburton is a strong manager who will make Ipswich hard to beat but make them attractive to watch.

He could be the man to get them back to the Championship should they go down and Lambert leaves.

Carlos Carvalhal

A pundit on Sky Sports since his release from Swansea City last season, Carlos Carvalhal will not be too fussy when it comes to joining a new club.

If the job matches his ambition and if he wants to get back into management, then Ipswich could well be an attractive proposition.

A big club with ample support, they could basically hit reset in League One, and Carvalhal could be given free roam, within the financial constraints to do as he pleases and be able to build a brand-new squad.

Danny Cowley

Now, the Lincoln boss could well be in League One next season if his Imps side are promoted.

Even if they are, the bright lights and circumstance around a club like Ipswich could be too big a club to resist.

Town could be the perfect club for him in a division that will afford him time to reset the club and start again.

And it could be the start of a successful spell at Portman Road should the highly-rated manager get the chance to shine.
