With over a quarter of the season gone, they say that the league table starts to take shape after 10-12 games- and it's bleak reading for Hull City fans.

Hull have won just two of their opening 12 matches and are winless in their last five league matches.

This poor start to the season has seen boss Nigel Adkins come under intense scrutiny from the club's supporters.

With crucial games against relegation rivals Preston North End and Bolton Wanderers to come in October, many Hull fans will be wanting a new manager to be appointed to give their side the best chance going into winnable games like Hull have this month.

Adkins has been in charge since December 2017, but during his time at the club, Hull have only won 26% of their matches which is dismal reading for many fans.

With Adkins under pressure, who could Hull potentially bring in to replace the former Southampton boss?

Find out here....

Pardew would certainly be a high-profile appointment at Hull should he replace Adkins. With proven experience in both the Championship and Premier League. Whether he would step down to the Championship remains to be seen but he could definitely motivate an under-performing set of players at Hull City.

McCarthy has been out of work since his spell at Ipswich Town came to an end. He would also be considered as a leading candidate for the job and would certainly "put the cat amongst the pigeons" in the Hull City dressing room with his fiery personality. He could get the club to Championship survival on a small budget, which he has proved he can do in his previous spell at Ipswich Town.

The Portsmouth boss has had a fantastic season so far with the League 1 club, with his side sat top of the league and already three points clear. Jackett already has experience in the Championship, having previously managed Wolves and Millwall. He should be one of the clear front-runners for the managerial vacancy at Hull, should it become available.
