There's going to be lots of comings and goings over the coming weeks at Leeds United, by the time they face Stoke in the season opener the squad could look very different from last season.

Every day is greeted by a new arrival, a new rumour or a departure. Just today, Pawel Cibicki has left, whereas last week Lewis Baker joined.

That will be a pattern repeated over the coming weeks as Marco Bielsa builds his team, to one he feels can rise to the challenge of a Championship promotion.

It will be measured business though, nothing like last summer where big contracts were given to inadequate players. Bielsa ended Leeds' interest in Jerry Mbakogu today, proving that there will be no panic buying.

What there will be, hopefully, is a squad that the Leeds fans can finally believe in, players who seemingly want to play for the club, not the money. No team deserves success, it has to be earned, but Leeds are primed and ready to take the next step under the right stewardship.

When the players step out on the opening day of the season against Stoke, the first XI may look very different indeed. Here are three players FLW thinks could well be in the starting line up on that day.

It's the transfer saga of the summer, certainly as far as the Championship is concerned, but indications are that Leeds will sign Matej Vydra from Derby.

He'll bring goals, he'll bring a real threat to their forward line and he'll bring smiles to the faces of fans. Would Jerry Mbakogu have managed that?

Egan is perhaps the type of player that won't get pulses racing at Elland Road, but will be crucial to any success.

The Brentford midfielder is Championship ready but has yet to be subjected to any serious interest. That doesn't mean he won't be though.

Stockdale is another who has been the subject of an on/off saga that just intensifies with every passing hour.

He's a steady pair of hands, something Leeds haven't had for a year now. Birmingham seemingly see him as surplus to requirements and once the World Cup ends the market might start moving, resulting in Leeds long awaited move for a new number one.
