Notts County's hopes of League Two survival are hanging by a thread as we enter the final league game of the 2018/19 campaign.

The Magpies look destined for relegation to the National League for the first time in their 157-year history, ahead of crunch match against Swindon Town this weekend.

It has been a huge fall of grace for the World's Oldest Football League club - they were flying high under Kevin Nolan last season, finishing in the League Two play-off spots.

But three different managers later, and Notts are currently in turmoil going into the final game of the campaign, with Neal Ardley failing to turn his side's fortunes around.

Regardless of what division Notts find themselves in next season, wholesale changes need to be made throughout the club, with new owners set to arrive at Meadow Lane.

Ardley has come under criticism from plenty of fans over the last couple of months, and if he were to leave in the summer, we take a look at three replacements that the club should consider...

Darrell Clarke

This has the potential to be one of the best appointments out there for Notts if Ardley leaves.

Clarke has been out of work since his sacking from Bristol Rovers in December, after guiding the club to promotion from the National League all the way up to League One in the space of two years.

The 41-year-old is from Nottingham, and it would be a massive coup if they managed to appoint him.

Tim Flowers

Flowers has done a fantastic job at the helm of National League side Solihull Moors this season.

The 52-year-old has exceeded all expectations this term, guiding the West Midlands side to second spot in the National League table.

He has probably taken Moors as far as he can, and he would surely jump at the chance of moving to a club like Notts.

Shaun Derry

Derry is a man that Notts fans will be incredibly familiar with.

The 41-year-old helped the Magpies avoid relegation to League Two in 2013/14, and has recently left his post as assistant manager of Oxford United.

He would get the fans back on side, and there is no reason why he can't be a success at Meadow Lane for a second time.
