With 17 games of the Championship to go, Kenny Jackett's men are currently sat in the middle of the pack - they haven't done enough to push towards the top six, but at the same time they've got enough quality in the squad to stave off any threat of relegation.

Last season, the club came within inches of making the play-offs, missing out on goal difference after amassing a highly respectable 78 points in their first season in the Championship.

The attacking trio of Nouha Dicko, Bakary Sako and Benik Afobe made Wolves a force to be reckoned with in the second half of the season.

However with the departure of Bakary Sako to Crystal Palace and the serious injury to Nouha Dicko, Benik Afobe was soon left isolated in attack before he sealed a move to Premier League club Bournemouth in January.

Wolves do have quality in their side in other areas of the team though, with the likes of Kevin McDonald, who is able to provide that creative spark in midfield and Danny Batth, who has lead the team solidly from the back in spite of his recent critics.

Taking McDonald and Batth out of consideration as well as the departed Afobe, FLW looks at the Wolves players who put in a shift for the club but tend to slip under the radar when it comes to recognition from fans.

Here are the THREE players that are the most underrated at the club so far this season......

Dave Edwards

Edwards is currently the club's oldest and longest serving player, having been at Molineux since he joined from Luton Town in 2008.

He's been through the highs and lows during his eight years at the club - experiencing the joys of promotion to the Premier League and the disaster of relegation to League One.

Although some fans believe that he is past-it, there's no denying the work rate he puts in every game and his ability to pop up with goals at crucial points.

His passion for the club is something that can never be underestimated and because of this he always gives it his all when he dons a Wolves shirt.

Unfortunately, Edwards picked up a knee injury which means the Welshman will be out for 12 weeks, and Wolves will certainly miss his presence in the team.

James Henry

Henry is another player who often puts in a solid performance when he's part of the team, and is the club's top scorer with seven goals so far this season following the departure of Benik Afobe to Bournemouth.

He mainly operates on the right wing and in this position he sets up the strikers to do their business, and also cuts inside to get himself into scoring positions.

His future at the club was under threat in the summer as Charlton bid half a million pounds for the former Millwall man, however he ended up staying and has proved his worth in the games he has played so far this season.

Compared with the likes of Bakary Sako, he doesn't possess the same amount of skills and trickery as the Malian but he has a knack of scoring and delivering.

As a player he doesn't get praised for his contributions but you have to consider that without him in the team - Wolves would be seven goals worse off and this would probably have left us looking over our shoulder towards the bottom three.

Dominic Iorfa

An energetic presence down the right side of Wolves' defence, Iorfa is maturing into one of the best players that we have had in a long time.

As part of the defence, he doesn't always get the recognition he deserves, but every time he gets on the ball he is always looking to run down the right flank to start an attack and assist the midfield.

Due to his inexperience, this sometimes leaves the defence open at the back, but having that desire to get up the pitch and get his team a goal is something that can't be faulted.

He made his way up through the youth ranks at Molineux since the age of 15 and signed professionally for the club in 2013.

A one-month loan at Shrewsbury gave him valuable first-team experience and after playing the majority of the second of last season, he has since become a fan's favourite and one of the first names to appear on Kenny Jackett's team sheet.

There's no doubt that he is still learning as a player, as he sometimes shows defensive frailties which can cost his team dearly; but overall he is an important player for the club and if he carries on performing well it won't be long before the big names come calling for the England under-21 starlet.

Wolves fans, do you agree with my picks? Is there anyone else that you would add to this list or is there another player that you think is more worthy of being a great underrated player for the club?
