The ex-England international’s season looks to have come to an end after his spot was lost to previous back-up Alex Smithies.

Green has in fairness been a good servant to the R’s since his transfer from West Ham in 2012, but maybe his age is beginning to show.

The 36-year-old made a few errors earlier on in the season, and with the club seemingly set on refusing Green a new contract, he may not pull on the QPR shirt again.

His hefty wages may be better spent elsewhere, and with Matt Ingram brought in from Wycombe in January, Green clearly failed to convince Hasselbaink that he still has the quality to have a long term future at QPR.
