QPR have had a disappointing return to the Championship so far this season.

An instant return to the Premier League looks impossible at this point, and many of their higher paid stars have failed to produce.

This ultimately cost former manager Chris Ramsey his job, and his replacement Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has failed to hit the ground running in his new role.

QPR have in their ranks a number of high profile names, with vast experience at the top level, and wage packets way above the average Championship footballer.

A huge overhaul of the squad looks inevitable this summer as Hasselbaink looks to stamp his identity on the club.

He appears to have moved in the direction of bringing in young, hungry footballers from lower down the football pyramid, with acquisitions such as Conor Washington.

With this being the case, FLW's Tom Percival looks at THREE players who have flattered to deceive this season, and may find their future away from Loftus Road for good this summer.......

Robert Green

The ex-England international's season looks to have come to an end after his spot was lost to previous back-up Alex Smithies.

Green has in fairness been a good servant to the R's since his transfer from West Ham in 2012, but maybe his age is beginning to show.

The 36-year-old made a few errors earlier on in the season, and with the club seemingly set on refusing Green a new contract, he may not pull on the QPR shirt again.

His hefty wages may be better spent elsewhere, and with Matt Ingram brought in from Wycombe in January, Green clearly failed to convince Hasselbaink that he still has the quality to have a long term future at QPR.

Leroy Fer

The Dutchman arrived in England with a lofty reputation in European football, but has thus far failed to deliver.

Successive relegations from the Premier League with Norwich and QPR meant that this was a prime opportunity to light up the Championship, but once again Fer was a little disappointing.

Hasselbaink has chosen to loan Fer out for another Premier League relegation battle with Swansea, and this speaks volumes for his performances over the first half of the season.

The talent is there, but Fer may lack the consistency to ever make it as a success in England, and as such, Hasselbaink seems keen to take his side down a different route.

Sandro

sandroo

In a similar vein to the other two, Sandro is a player with huge prestige for this level, who has failed to deliver.

The Brazilian should be a player who is head and shoulders over many of the players at this level, yet he found himself putting in indifferent performances for a mid-table side.

For a player earning a reported £50k per week, this is simply not good enough.

Similarly to Fer, Sandro has also been sent out on a Premier League loan, this time to West Bromwich Albion.

He may be able to find the form that made him such a promising player at Tottenham a few years ago, but he has certainly not done enough at QPR during his time at Loftus Road to make us think he is capable to replicating those days.
