Birmingham City have had a rough year where they narrowly avoided relegation for the second season running.

The Blues finished 19th in the Championship, and it could have been much worse if Garry Monk didn’t step in and steady the ship when he did.

Monk took over on the back of five straight defeats for Birmingham, where they had scored just one goal along the way.

Although he lost his first two, he guided Birmingham clear of safety with five wins in their remaining games.

This season, Birmingham have been a bit better, but there are still glimpses of inconsistency.
