Norwich City are sitting pretty at the top of the Championship table, having not lost since a surprise home defeat to Derby back in October.

All three of the relegated Premier League sides were expected to start strongly, having kept the majority of their star players, and the Canaries so far look likely to get themselves back to the highest tier of English football at the first time of asking.

There's still a long way to go in the season though, and a lot could rest on the business they do - or don't do in January.

The transfer window is just around the corner, so let's have a look at what Norwich and Farke shouldn't be considering when 2021 comes around.

To sell Emi Buendia

There was much surprise when Norwich ended up being able to keep the diminutive 23-year-old this summer, but it's definitely benefitting them right now.

Buendia has assisted five times and picked up a couple of goals for himself this season - we can look past the silly red card he received away at Stoke last week.

Along with Todd Cantwell, Norwich have two of the top attacking midfielders in the league, both of whom could easily get in some Premier League teams, and if they want to secure promotion at the earliest opportunity, Norwich should hold onto the Argentinian.

To not ship out Leitner and Drmic

Moritz Leitner was a key figure for the Canaries in the first half of the 2018/19 promotion season, and also made quite a few starts in the Premier League last season, but he fell out of favour with Daniel Farke and has never regained his place in the side.

Drmic meanwhile was a highly-regarded capture last summer after scoring goals in the Bundesliga for years, but he failed to fire in the chances he got last year and now Farke wants him gone.

The Swiss striker actually hit back at Farke in an Instagram post and it looks like he's getting himself back into shape to secure football away from Carrow Road in January, and Leitner will probably follow him out of the door.

To sell Max Aarons

Similarly to Buendia, Aarons is a brilliant talent and both men make up a formidable partnership down Norwich's right flank.

The 20-year-old was even linked with Barcelona this past transfer window, something that he recently spoke about to Guillem Balague, but he got his head down and focused once that move didn't happen, and is focused on getting his team back into the Premier League.

No doubt there will be interest in January though, and Norwich need to do all they can to bat away the bids that will come in.
