Now we've entered April, the season is beginning to draw to a close for the majority of teams, four will have the chance to prolong their season by a couple of weeks and attempt to win promotion to the Premier League.

For those whose season's have brought little or no success, the summer will allow them a chance to re-group and re-assess how they move forward.

The inevitable transfer circus will unfold with all 24 teams looking to strengthen where they can.

But rather than recruit on the field, there are several teams whose best signing could be a man in the dugout.

The Championship may be a difficult league to negotiate but there are some managers currently out of a job, who have proved that they have the knowledge and know how in winning promotion.

FLW's Sam Meade takes a look at THREE managers out of work who could aid a team in their Championship campaign next season......

Nigel Pearson

The ex-Leicester manager has been out of a job for a year since being dismissed in the summer of 2015.

His previous team are on the cusp of Premier League glory, and he will take an element of credit for those achievements.

During his first spell at Leicester he won the League One title before leading the Foxes to 5th place in the Championship in their first season back.

He did take the reins at Hull City for 18 months before returning to the Midlands for a second stint at Leicester manager.

He won promotion as champions in 2014 which followed Leicester's last minute play-off semi-final defeat the year before.

Pearson has a clear track record of getting his teams in and around the top 6 and has proved this in England's second and third tier. He was rumoured to be in the frame for the Aston Villa job but with no movement on that news he is still a free man and club's should move sooner rather than later to secure his services.

Ian Holloway

His last job at Millwall didn't cover him in glory and he was dismissed in March 2015 with the team in the relegation zone.

Prior to that however his last two jobs with Crystal Palace and Blackpool resulted in play-off final wins for both sides.

His fairytale time as Blackpool's manager saw the club gain promotion on a shoe string budget but Holloway's grit and determination was always evident in his team. After failing to keep them in the Premier League he did take them back to the play-off final only to lose to West Ham.

He then took up the managerial hot seat at Selhurst Park with the club in the play-off picture. After he defeated arch rivals Brighton on the south coast he took the Eagles to Wembley where a Kevin Phillips penalty saw them beat Watford after extra time.

Like Pearson he is a manager who knows the Championship inside out but also possess that grit like determination necessary to negate one of the most difficult league's in the world.

Paul Clement

He may have only had the one job with Derby County this year but his dismissal was met with considerable surprise.

He was sacked with the club still in the play-off positions but in a mild slump in form. Prior to that though he had taken the Rams to the summit of the Championship.

His tutorship under Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid gives him experience and exposure at the top level. During his time as Derby manager the team played a free flowing brand of football that was clearly effective on the field.

It would represent an element of a gamble to appoint him but he is an up and coming English coach and they are in demand.
