Reading fans face a nervous wait to see who they will appoint as Paul Clement's successor after he was dismissed on Thursday morning.

Newly appointed Chief Executive, Nigel Howe, has a tough decision to make, and it could potentially define which direction their season heads in.

Reading are firmly in a relegation fight this season and whoever is appointed would have a tough job on their hands to reignite the fight in a group of players that are certainly underperforming at this moment in time.

The likes of Phil Parkinson, Slavisa Jokanovic, Vitor Pereira and Steve Bruce are reportedly the frontrunners to succeed Clement at the Madejski Stadium according to the Bolton News.

There have been a mixed reaction to the news of each managers rumoured arrival, but Reading supporters will be keen to see a new man in the dugout as quickly as possible, so that they can try and fire the Royals back up the Championship table.

But we're going to look at the managers who Nigel Howe shouldn't be considering for the managerial role at Reading.

Find out who they are, here.....

Guidolin's last managerial role was with Swansea in a short spell with the club, before being sacked on his 61st birthday in 2016.

He has managed a ridiculous amount of clubs and doesn't seem to settle at a team for very long, therefore he shouldn't be appointed as Reading manager.

The Royals need stability at the club and a long-term plan, and Guidolin wouldn't fit that description so they should look elsewhere.

Hughes was recently dismissed as Southampton boss and could be keen for a return to management with the Royals.

Although he isn't considered as one of the frontrunners for the job at Reading, Nigel Howe could be tempted to add him to the shortlist given his managerial experience.

But Hughes has struggled in the majority of his managerial spells and Reading shouldn't even be considering making a move for the former Saints manager anytime soon.

The former Reading boss could be tempted by a return to the Madejski Stadium following Clement's sacking but Nigel Howe should be steering clear of a move for McDermott.

He has already had two spells with the Berkshire-based side, and although he would fit 'The Reading way', he has had his time and they should consider moving forward with a more experienced name.
