West Brom have been one of the Championship's stand out teams over the opening 12 matches of the season.

The Baggies currently sit second in the table behind Sheffield United who they trail by only one point and look set to be battling for automatic promotion this season.

Manager Darren Moore has put a tactical emphasis on playing attacking, fast-paced football and so far it has worked a treat.

They are the top scorers in the league after netting 31 goals in their opening 12 matches and have some of the best attacking players in the league at their disposal.

Jay Rodriguez, Dwight Gayle, Harvey Barnes and Matt Phillips make up one of the best front lines in the Championship, with the quartet scoring 22 of the club's 31 goals between them.

But it was revealed today that the on-loan Barnes could be recalled by parent club Leicester City and in January.

This would be a massive blow for the high-flying Baggies.

Here are three major consequences we could see at the club if Barnes leaves...

The worst possible consequence is that the attack completely breaks down.

It is unlikely given the talent, but when such a pivotal cog is removed from a team it can often lead to a lack of direction.

Barnes has been crucial in linking the attack with the midfield and losing that asset could cause a breakdown in the attack.

The Baggies brought Sako in as a free agent last week but he is most likely not match fit just yet.

The winger has proven to be a deadly weapon in the Championship with Wolves in the past, however, and there is every chance he would be encouraged by the chance to step up and fill the hole left by Barnes.

The Blackburn talisman was the subject of some massive bids from Albion in the summer and there's every chance they could return for Dack in January.

If Barnes is to be recalled it could well spring the Baggies' board into life and cause them to splash a huge amount of money on him.
