Luton Town will be competing for survival in the second half of the Championship season as the bottom-placed side aim to overcome the seven-point gap that currently separates themselves and safety.

Graeme Jones' side have struggled in the second tier since securing their promotion from League One last term, and this has meant the Hatters boss has not been able to blood too many younger players into the league side this campaign.

However, this does not mean there is not plenty of talent waiting to make the breakthrough at Kenilworth Road, with the club having a solid reputation of producing young players in recent years.

Jones has been appointed at the helm with the goal to implement a long-term project at the club, and a big part of this will involve creating a clear pathway from the academy to the senior side for the club's brightest talents.

Here, we take a look at three Luton prospects...

Corey Panter

Panter has progressed right through the club's academy ranks after joining the Hatters at the age of nine back in 2009, with the 19-year-old now being sent out on loan by his boyhood club in order to boost his senior experience.

The versatile defender can operate at centre-back or on the left side of defence and he impressed on his loan spell at Hendon in the first half of the season, with this then seeing him join Biggleswade Town on a short-term loan which has been extended.

Jake Peck

Peck is rated highly at Kenilworth Road and this saw him rewarded with a development contract last summer, with the midfielder having made his Luton debut under Nathan Jones back in an EFL Trophy match in 2018.

The 20-year-old possesses excellent skill in the middle of the park while his accomplished passing ability is one of his key attributes, and he will surely now be targeting his full senior breakthrough in the near future.

Sam Beckwith

There are high hopes for Beckwith at the club after he signed a development contract with the first team earlier this season, with the midfielder having impressed Luton boss Graeme Jones during his string of pre-season outings.

The 17-year-old is a strong technical player and possesses excellent tactical awareness, with this helping him make excellent progression in the early stages of his career as he aims to keep maturing in order to break into the first team in the near future.
