Brentford will likely be eyeing up their trip to Kenilworth Road this evening as the perfect opportunity to end their recent winless run.

The Bees may be unbeaten in their last five but after failing to beat Leeds United, Birmingham City, and Blackburn Rovers, they will undoubtedly be desperate for three points.

On the surface, Luton look like the ideal opponent for them–bottom of the Championship, having conceded 69 goals already this season and a side that Thomas Frank's men beat 7-0 in the reverse fixture at Griffin Park.

However, with just 12 games left of the season, Luton are now fighting for their lives in the English second tier.

In recent weeks they've beaten both Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday, so they're not a side that Brentford should be underestimating.

With that in mind, here are three weaknesses that they should look to exploit against Luton...

Their willingness to pour players forward

One of the things that has been surprising about Luton's season has been the number of players they continue to pour forward in games, despite their issues at the back.

In many ways, their commitment to attacking football is admirable but there is also a naivety and lack of pragmatism that reminds me of the Blackpool side that were relegated from the Premier League in 2011.

The Hatters like to play attacking football and allow players to pour forward, if Brentford can catch them out when they do, they should have success.

Their weakness at right-back

In James Bree and Martin Cranie, Luton have two right-backs that could be exploited at Kenilworth Road this evening.

Neither have been particularly convincing this season and they now face Said Benrahma, who has been in scary form in the 2019/20 campaign.

With 10 goals and five assists already to his name, the Algerian could be the key to the Bees earning three points this evening.

Simon Sluga

The Croatian goalkeeper has been far from convincing in his first season at the club.

The Hatters may have broken their club transfer record to sign him but he has been pretty underwhelming so far, losing his job to James Shea for part of the current campaign.

Brentford's front three have made life very difficult for a number of goalkeepers this season and you feel they could have some success against Sluga this evening.
