This year the race for promotion to the Premier League has never been more fierce.

The financial reward  is astronomical with the new television deal worth a significant sum of money.

Some clubs should be looking at investing in new players during the transfer window, in order to strengthen their teams for the rest of Championship campaign.

Wolves will have aspirations of getting back into the top-flight and are currently in mid-table, after a mediocre start to their 2015/16 campaign.

A few additions in the transfer window could be all Wolves need to secure a play-off spot or maybe even an automatic place.

Perhaps they could look at securing some talent from a Premier League club such as Liverpool, with the Merseyside club having a lot of fringe players who could do with a move to the Championship.

Here are THREE players from Liverpool that could help Wolves in their promotion challenge.......

Cameron Brannagan

The 19-year-old is seemingly thought very highly of at Liverpool, he is a creative playmaker who can play just off the front or on either wing, making him extremely versatile.

The fact he can play more than one position is a huge bonus, with the Championship games coming thick and fast, covering positions throughout the squad is key to maintaining the challenge at the top end of the league.

A loan move to a Championship side vying fro the top six like Wolves would be excellent for his development, and ultimately could help provide Wolves striker Benik Afobe with more ammunition upfront.

Brad Smith

The young, left sided defender would be an excellent acquisition for Wolves who have a somewhat leaky defence, he is powerful, good in the air, mainly plays at left-back but can cover the central role.

The former U17 England international made his breakthrough under former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers last season, but has only featured a handful of times this year.

Wolves could do a lot worse than securing this player on loan, and it would surely be a beneficial deal for all parties involved.

Jerome Sinclair

Jerome Sinclair has electric pace and has been prolific at U18 and U19 level.

Goals get you promoted and this exciting young striker from Birmingham could be the answer for Kenny Jackett's side.

He would terrify a Championship defence with his pace and skill.

A move for Sinclair could be the best thing for both Wolves and the player himself as he has a lot of quality players in front of him at Liverpool.

Dropping down to the Championship wouldn't hurt his career, and him and Benik Afobe could potentially strike up a prolific partnership upfront.
