Derby County currently sit fifth in the Sky Bet Championship, only five points off an automatic promotion place, and have invested heavily in a squad which is full to the brim with exciting talent.

Chairman Mel Morris backed former manager Paul Clement to the tune of around £20 million in the summer and January transfer windows, only to then part company with the former Real Madrid coach last week under bizarre reasoning.

The Rams will be looking to come out of a run which has seen them go seven games without a win in the league, yet they remain in contention for the automatic promotion places.

Caretaker manager Darren Wassall will be looking for a change in fortunes, and may well look to the loan market as he looks to impose his own ideas on the team.

One of the teams he may look to go and borrow players from are Liverpool.

Here, FootballLeagueWorld writer Lee Connor identifies THREE players that Derby County should sign on loan from Liverpool in the emergency loan window...

Jon Flanagan

The homegrown talent has recently returned from injury, and manager Jurgen Klopp has thrown him straight into some games already.

However, after a long lay-off, Flanagan may be best served seeking a move away from Anfield to regain some match fitness and confidence in his body again.

Flanagan is a solid defender, capable of playing anywhere across the back four.

While scoring goals is not usually a problem, if they can keep them out at the other end, it may well put them in a position to finally break their winless streak.

Flanagan could add some much needed steel and, crucially, Premier League experience to the ranks.

Jerome Sinclair

With Chris Martin struggling to fire lately and new signing Nick Blackman yet to find the net, Jerome Sinclair could be an option for the Rams as they look to score more goals during the final part of the season.

It is well documented that Sinclair has rejected a new contract with the Reds, and manager Klopp is not overly impressed by him and his attitude.

However, a move to the Championship and the chance to demonstrate his ability could be the catalyst that both club and player need.

If he can score goals and help fire Derby to the Premier League, it will be a win-win situation for him, as he will either earn a better Liverpool deal, or Derby will want him permanently.

Ryan Kent

The flying winger recently spent a successful spell on loan with League One side Coventry City, impressing with his goals and assists and overall play down the flanks and across the forward positions.

Kent may want to test himself in the league above League One though, after showing glimpses of his talent in a few cup games for Liverpool since his return to Anfield.

The youngster does possess quality, and may well be what Derby need as they look to get back on track.

He can beat his man and provide plenty of crosses, and might be the answer to Martin rediscovering his goalscoring touch.
