Saturday saw Leeds United frustratingly held to a 1-1 draw by Nottingham Forest at Elland Road with many believing that it was a match they should have won.

Pablo Hernandez gave Bielsa's side a second-half lead, scoring for the second match in a row, but a freak goal from Lewis Grabban meant the points were shared with Sabri Lamouchi's Reds.

Before they get the chance to bounce back in the league, now, they must deal with the first-round of the League Cup, where they will face Salford City.

Salford were promoted from the conference to League Two last season after just one season in the fifth-tier of English football as they continue to march onwards and upwards, bankrolled by a host of Manchester United legends.

In his pre-match press conference on Monday, Bielsa dropped a hint over his squad selection, saying that he will involve some young players in the squad.

With that in mind, therefore, here are THREE Leeds youngsters he should look to play...

Ryan Edmondson

The striker will have been chomping at the bit for first-team football for months now.

With Eddie Nketiah arriving but Kemar Roofe leaving, it is likely that he will remain third in the striking pecking order, but will be hoping for a first-team shot to try and change that.

He scored goals for fun with the Under-23s last season and surely having more options in attack would only benefit the boss.

Mateusz Bogusz

The young midfielder has only been playing in the sides youth and reserve teams for a year, but he already looks destined for the first-team.

He is somebody Bielsa had clearly targeted for a while, hence why he signed so soon after he arrived, and it appears he will not have to wait too much longer for a first-team opportunity.

With a lack of first-team depth still apparent in that area, giving him a shot to prove himself against Salford is something that should definitely be considered.

Bryce Hosannah

Now 20-years-old, Hosannah will feel that first-team opportunities will need to come soon if they are going to come at all for him at Leeds.

He was involved with the first-team throughout pre-season and, with Luke Ayling still sidelined with injury, could prove to be a very useful option at right-back.

Games will not get much more low pressured this season than the first round of the League Cup, so it is the perfect opportunity to try him out.
