It has been a tough three weeks for Leeds United in the January transfer window, with Marcelo Bielsa still awaiting his first signing.

Leeds lost both Eddie Nketiah and Jack Clarke to recalls at the start of the month, with Arsenal and Tottenham unimpressed by the little game time Bielsa was giving their loanees.

So, a striker and a winger to replace that pair are firmly on the radar of Leeds, who also have their irons in a couple of other fires.

And, Bielsa could really do with some signings ahead of Leeds’ next Championship fixture, which comes against Millwall on January 28th.

The Whites have won just once in their last seven Championship fixtures, surrendering an 11-point lead over third to only four points.

But what movement could we see in the window at Elland Road in the next 10 days?

We take a look…

The 18-year-old goalkeeper’s move to Elland Road is expected to be something of a formality.

Phil Hay reports that the Whites are just waiting on a couple of documents before making Caprile’s move to Elland Road official, with this transfer not proving to be too difficult for Leeds.

Nevertheless, it is a signing for the future and not for now, which means it isn’t an immediate priority.

The Manchester City winger is a man that Leeds want to sign, but he has options across Europe, with Italy a possible destination.

Leeds want Poveda, who has first-team experience under Pep Guardiola, to come in and replace Jack Clarke, thus providing additional cover to the attacking midfield positions in Bielsa’s squad.

It doesn’t appear to be dead in the water, but this deal is taking time, with Poveda really assessing his options.

Finally, we come to the crucial signing a misfiring Leeds need to make this window: a striker.

Nketiah has gone, with Patrick Bamford struggling for confidence in-front of goal, which leaves Leeds in desperate need to secure someone’s signature in the coming days.

Che Adams was the man they wanted, but he’s proving difficult to get out of Southampton, whilst Andre Gray’s name won’t go away.

According to Phil Hay, Watford are opening up the possibility of dealing with Leeds for Gray, but this transfer scenario feels like it might go the distance.
