Leeds United head into the final eight games of the Championship well in contention to seal a top two spot.

Despite a disappointing loss against Sheffield United last time out, the Whites have still put enough points on the board over the course of the campaign to ensure they have a big say in the race for promotion in the final few weeks.

The loss to the Blades though has presented manager Marcelo Bielsa with a couple of conundrums though, as he once again saw his team lose a big game to a near rival, having previously been dispatched by the likes of Norwich and West Brom.

Some big games await Leeds in the run-in, as the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Preston threaten to derail their promotion hopes, but just what will Bielsa and his coaching team be looking to resolve and get right to ensure success in the final few weeks of the season.

With that in mind, we at FLW took a look at THREE problems Leeds and Bielsa must solve ahead of their final eight games...

A replacement for Jansson

The big Swedish defender was injured late on in the loss to Sheffield United, and despite the injury not being season ending, Jansson will miss at least one game and could take time to get back to full fitness.

Replacing him will be vital for Bielsa, who will see the loss of one his best leaders and biggest characters as a key component in guiding his team to promotion.

Patrick Bamford's all round game

While Bamford has offered enough in terms of goals, with five from his last nine, the former Middlesbrough man can often go missing in games.

He doesn't seem to offer the same sort of energy and overall game that the injured Kemar Roofe brings to the table, and it's imperative Bielsa gets Bamford putting in the work as well as bagging the goals in the season run-in.

A plan B

One thing we have seen from Norwich and Sheffield United this season is the ability to win ugly and find a way to grab three points when not at their best.

For all their free flowing football, Leeds can often come up short if they fail to hit the back of the net while playing their patented way.

Bielsa will need to ensure he has another plan in mind for those tight Championship games which could make all the difference in the promotion race.
