After a dismal spell at Elland Road, Leeds United have recently bid farewell to midfielder Vurnon Anita in the latter stages of the summer transfer window.

The 30-year-old arrived at the club on the back of helping Newcastle United win the Sky Bet Championship title in the 2016/17 campaign, making 31 appearances in all competitions.

Signed by Garry Monk, the versatile midfielder, who was often deployed as a left-back for the Whites, made 22 appearances in his first season at Elland Road, but soon fell out of favour when Monk left for Middlesbrough at the end of the season.

A loan switch to Willem II materialised in the following season, but after a frustrating time back in his home country, Leeds have now announced that they have cut ties with the Dutchman.

Anita wasn't the only player that Leeds said goodbye to in the final stages of the transfer window, with Conor Shaughnessy and Laurens De Bock both sealing loan moves to Mansfield Town and Sunderland respectively.

With the deadwood starting to be cleared, we take a look at three Leeds player who should be pushing for the exit door just like Anita...

Ouasim Bouy

Bouy is bound to be feeling hugely frustrated after failing to be offloaded by Leeds in the summer, after what has been a terrible time at Elland Road for the Dutchman.

The 26-year-old signed for Leeds from Juventus in the summer of 2017, but was immediately sent out on loan to Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa upon his arrival at Elland Road.

But the versatile midfielder, who can also operate as a centre-half, made just four first-team appearances for Leonesa, as well as making only 18 appearances in all competitions for PEC Zwolle last term.

Leeds have a plethora of talented midfielders in their ranks, and it's incredibly unlikely that Bouy will challenge them for a place in Bielsa's side anytime soon. He needs to be playing regularly at this stage of his career.

Eunan O'Kane

O'Kane is another Leeds midfielder who is completely out of favour under Marcelo Bielsa, and needs to push for the exit door at Elland Road.

The Irishman was signed by Monk from AFC Bournemouth in 2016, playing 26 times for Leeds in his debut season in Yorkshire.

The 29-year-old fell out of favour when Thomas Christiansen took the reins of the club, and he subsequently spent last season on loan at Luton Town after falling down the pecking order under Bielsa too.

But O'Kane made only four appearances for the Hatters before sustaining a double leg fracture in September, which has ruled him out for nearly a year.

Leeds Live have claimed that the Whites will have to wait until January to offload O'Kane, but it would definitely be best for both parties if the midfielder departed the club now and started to find a new club ahead of the winter.

Lewie Coyle

Coyle currently finds himself out on loan at Fleetwood Town for the third successive year, and there is no reason to suggest why he shouldn't look to part ways with Leeds when his loan spell runs out in the New Year.

The 23-year-old has been a very important player for the Cod Army in recent years, making just over 100 appearances for the League One side during his time at Highbury.

But the right-back has played only 23 times for Leeds since coming through the ranks at Thorp Arch, and with the quality of defenders Bielsa has to choose from, it's unlikely that Coyle will be involved in his plans anytime soon.
