After a huge impressive tenure thus far, Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer is attracting interest from Sky Bet Championship side Queens Park Rangers.

The latter are on the lookout for a new boss after parting company with Steve McClaren on Monday, and reports have surfaced claiming that they are taking an interest in Bowyer.

Bowyer has done a superb job at the helm of the Addicks, in what is his first job in management. The 42-year old took the reins when Karl Robinson left the club last March, and led them to the League One play-off semi-finals after steadying the ship at the Valley.

He was then rewarded for his efforts by being given the job permanently, with the club's position in the top six looking safe for yet another year.

With the ownership in the club up in arms, the former Newcastle midfielder has done brilliantly well to get Charlton up into the promotion mixer with a limited budget, and is believed to be the reason as to why QPR value him so highly.

With his contract running out at the Valley in the summer, we take a look at three replacements Charlton must consider if Bowyer left for QPR...

Chris Powell

Powell is a man who knows Charlton like the back of his hands, and could be a good appointment for the Addicks should Bowyer leave.

The 49-year old made over 200 appearances for the club as a player, and managed them for more than three years between 2011 and 2014.

In that time, he guided the club to the League One title and won three manager of the month awards in the process, but now finds himself out of work after being sacked by Southend United.

Paul Hurst

Hurst is still out of work after a disastrous spell at Ipswich Town, but could be another good option for Charlton if Bowyer left.

The job he did at Shrewsbury Town was remarkable, taking them from relegation candidates to play-off finalists in the space of a year under limited resources and budgets.

He would be a perfect fit at the Valley.

Kevin Nolan

Nolan is a very similar character to Bowyer, in the sense that he is a former Premier League midfielder who shows real passion and commitment on the sidelines.

The former Newcastle midfielder was sacked by Notts County five games into the current season, just one season after guiding them to the League Two semi-finals where they were defeated by Coventry.

He will be looking to get back into work after a short time out of it, and could be a perfect replacement for Bowyer at Charlton.
