Newcastle United are absolutely flying at the moment as they sealed a 1-0 victory over Rotherham United before the international break, that put them into 3rd place in the Championship.

After a rather shaky start to the Championship season, it seems that the team spirit is as high as it has ever been at St James Park after a run of victories.

The Magpies significantly bolstered their squad in the summer – spending over £50 million on top-class Premier League players.

Even though, the club have targeted the top-flight for players, it is expected that Rafael Benitez will continue looking for additions to his squad in January and could target the League One market.

Although, it is a division below the North East club, League One is packed with talented players looking for a break in their career. A career path to Newcastle would be hugely tempting for any League One player.

Bradley Dack

After netting 15 goals for the Gills last season, he has not quite hit his stride this year, but is a talented prospect for the Magpies.

Dack is sturdily built, and is adept at finding space in the box and shoots well.

Whether he has the ability to step up to the Championship remains a question after his inconsistency this season, but he has proved last year that League One was far too easy for him.

Matty Taylor

The 26-year-old Bristol Rovers frontman is carving out a reputation with a Jamie Vardy-esque rise from non-league and has hit seven goals already this campaign.

He has continued his form from last season that saw his efforts guide his side into League One. He is an energetic forward who would provide Newcastle with added attacking prowess.

Ademola Lookman

The young striker was being cascaded with speculation from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool after emerging into the Charlton Athletic last season in the Championship.

The Magpies already have the likes of young talented forwards in Adam Armstrong, who is currently out on loan with Barnsley, but it would not harm building for their future with the addition of Lookman.
