It has been a hectic week by all accounts for Plymouth Argyle, who go into the final game of the campaign without a manager.

After losing 5-1 away to Accrington Stanley last time out, the Devon club parted company with long-standing manager Derek Adams, with the Pilgrims dropping into the League One relegation zone ahead of the final game of the season.

Argyle have a massive game on their hands this weekend, as they prepare to face fellow relegation-threatened side Scunthorpe United at Home Park, with their place in League One now hanging by a thread.

And, after losing their manager in midweek, Argyle could now be set to lose one of their best players too - reports from the Guardian claim that French side Bordeaux are interested in signing midfielder Ruben Lameiras on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The Ligue 1 side, who have already signed Josh Maja from League One club Sunderland this season, are set to watch the playmaker in action this weekend.

Lameiras has scored 12 goals and produced five assists for Argyle this term, and if he does leave at the end of the season, we take a look at three players that Plymouth should consider replacing him with...

Jevani Brown

If it wasn't for Jevani Brown, Cambridge United could well have found themselves playing in the National League next season.

The 24-year-old has been influential for Colin Calderwood's men this season, scoring seven goals and producing eight assists in all competitions.

A tricky, skilful playmaker who is able to play behind the striker or out wide, he would be an ideal replacement for Lameiras.

Jorge Grant

It has been an underwhelming season for Grant by his standards, but the Nottingham Forest man could be set to win automatic promotion from League Two with Mansfield Town.

The 24-year-old, who spent the first-half of the campaign on loan with Luton, has since failed to make the greatest of impacts on loan with the Stags.

But the attacking midfielder is a proven star in League Two level, scoring 19 goals in all competitions for Notts County last term.

Whichever division Plymouth find themselves in next season, Grant should be the type of player that they target.

Michael Doughty

Doughty has been a standout performer for Swindon Town this season, and could well be a very good signing for Plymouth.

The midfielder, able to play out wide or even as a deep-lying playmaker, has scored 13 goals and produced four assists from midfield this term.

He could definitely replace Lameiras' goals and assists.
