After a hugely impressive campaign in League One, Daniel Stendel's Barnsley will be looking to cement their place in the Championship next season.

The Tykes adapted well to life in the third tier after being relegated from the Championship, bouncing back at the first time of asking under the German manager.

Now, the Yorkshire club will be looking to strengthen their side in the summer, but it is important that they keep hold of the players that served them so well in the 2018/19 campaign.

One of those players was definitely Kieffer Moore - the 26-year old ended up as the Tykes' joint-top scorer with Cauley Woodrow, scoring 19 goals in all competitions last term.

Reports have emerged, though, claiming that Bristol City are lining up a big-money move for the towering forward, as Lee Johnson's men look to ignite another push for promotion next term.

If Moore were to leave, we take a look at three replacements that Barnsley must consider signing...

Tom Eaves

This should be a no-brainer of a signing for Barnsley.

Eaves' goals were beneficial in helping Gillingham avoid the drop to League Two last season, netting 22 times in 50 games for the Kent side.

The towering forward would surely jump at a chance of moving up to the Championship, having established himself as one of the best strikers at League One level.

John Marquis

If Doncaster fail to join Barnsley in the Championship next season, then the Tykes should definitely look to raid their Yorkshire rivals for Marquis.

The 26-year old has a magnificent scoring record for Donny, scoring 66 goals in just over 150 appearances for the club, 25 of those strikes coming this season.

It would be a massive coup to land his signature in the summer

Clarke has been transfer-listed by Sheffield United following their promotion to the Premier League, and the 34-year old could be a very good signing for the Tykes.

The powerful striker scored 19 goals for United in the 2017/18 campaign, and then has been hugely impressive on loan with Wigan Athletic this season.

He could be available at a cut-price in the summer, and it's definitely a risk worth taking.
