Aitor Karanka's Nottingham Forest side go into Swansea clash looking for their second win of the season after a below-par start.

Nottingham Forest sit 14th in the table after six games, having won just one game and being held to draws on four occasions.

The summer spenders were tipped as promotion candidates pre-season, but the opening six games have seen Forest come out below these expectations results wise.

Despite this, the performances have been improving and Forest fans have enjoyed some very positive moments at the City Ground already, including a Carabao Cup win over Premier League opposition Newcastle, as well as a very positive performance against fellow promotion hopefuls West Brom, although they only drew this game in the end.

The trip to the Liberty Stadium will be far from easy, however. Swansea boss Graham Potter has got his side playing some exciting football and The Swans are 7th going into this tie.

Here, we take a look at THREE talking points at Nottingham Forest ahead of their trip to Wales at the weekend...

Experienced midfielder Claudio Yacob signed for Forest as a free agent last week on a two-year deal, and is eager to get straight into the side and showcase his talents in a tricky away fixture.

The Argentinian was a fan favourite at The Hawthorns and will use his experience to add to a relatively young Forest squad.

He adds to an ever growing list of defensive midfielders at Forest, joining Bridcutt, Watson, Colback, Guedioura, Tachtsidis and Yates. Whilst Karanka's side will never be short of defensive reinforcements, the creative element may get lost in translation at times.

According to local news outlets in Nottingham, Forest could be set to further add to their talented squad with the signing of international striker Karim Ansarifard on a free transfer from Olympiacos.

The 28-year-old netted 17 goals in 25 appearances in the Greek Super League last season, as well as impressing in the World Cup where his Iranian side nearly qualified from a group including giants Spain and Portugal.

Businessman Evangelos Marinakis seems to have pulled off another astute deal, as he has added him to an ever growing pool of promising players on Trentside.

Another player Forest could be keen on is Crystal Palace winger Bakary Sako, who they failed to sign when the player was at Wolves a few years back.

If Forest can add these players, their promotion push will be serious and Karanka's men would not be short of options

Daryl Murphy, Hillal Soudani, Lewis Grabban. Three names that Karanka could feasibly pick to lead his weaponry on Saturday.

Out of the various options, Daryl Murphy looks the most likely to get the nod. The Scotsman has netted three goals so far this season and is the sort of player that can cause problems in an away fixture.
