Leeds United have returned to form in resurgent fashion, with Thomas Christiansen’s side marching towards the playoff spots in recent weeks.

The Dane has installed the motivation and drive fans saw at Elland Road at the start of the season, and many will be confident that the Whites will secure a top-six finish as a bare minimum.

January will prove to be a huge month for the club, with the return of the transfer window providing Christiansen with the final opportunity to prepare his squad for a Premier League push.

People will leave in the new year, and a couple more quality additions should be enough to see Leeds over the playoff line.

The Whites should look to target this trio in January to improve their squad…

George Saville

Mateusz Klich is expected to leave Elland Road in the new year to boost his chances of a call-up to the Polish national team for the World Cup, so Christiansen will be in the market for a replacement.

Millwall’s George Saville should be at the top of the Dane’s wishlist, with the former Chelsea youngster excelling under Neil Harris at The Den.

The 24-year-old was sensational during a loan spell with Brentford before joining Wolves on a permanent deal in 2014, but failed to become a fixture of the side at Molineux.

Joining Millwall in the summer, Saville has once again begun to show what a top talent he is, and seven strikes from the middle of the park is testament to his player’s ability to get into the box.

Leandro Ulloa

An experienced striker who knows the English game well is exactly what Christiansen needs at Leeds, and Ulloa fits the bill perfectly.

The 31-year-old arrived in England in 2013 from Almeria in Spain, where he posted a terrific goal scoring record.

Excellent form with Brighton earned him a big move to Leicester in 2o14 where he won the Premier League with the Foxes, but the striker has fallen out of favour under new boss Claude Puel.

The player appears to have no future at the club, and a January switch appears likely.

Ulloa could score goals for fun when partnered with Samu Saiz and Gianni Alioski, so Christiansen should consider a surprise winter swoop.

Massimo Haidara

Leeds are in desperate need of a left-back to provide competition to the out-of-position Gaetano Berardi, and the Newcastle man could prove to be the perfect fit.

A long-term injury saw the Frenchman fall out of favour at St James’ Park, but Haidara still has a lot to offer side’s in English football.

Rafa Benitez is keen to spend in January, and may look to sell to free up funds, and Haidara could be one of the first to go.

Christiansen would do well to secure the services of the 25-year-old.
