Charlton sealed one of their most impressive results of the entire campaign last night as they overcame promotion-chasing Nottingham Forest with a 1-0 win at the City Ground.

Lee Bowyer's side were perched just one spot above the relegation zone heading into Tuesday night's clash in the Midlands, but they have now climbed up to 19th and six points clear of the bottom three following an excellent win.

Lyle Taylor was on target for the Addicks in the 24th minute as he tucked home Naby Sarr's fine left-wing cross, and Bowyer's men then battled hard to restrict Forest's chances throughout the remainder of the match to seal their triumph.

Sarr proved to be the unlikely architect of Taylor's strike as he teed the ball up for the frontman, but the Charlton defender was not only crucial to his side's attacking exploits as he also produced a fine defensive display to help his side to victory.

Here, we take a closer look at Sarr's numbers on the night...

Sarr has been a regular figure in the Charlton side so far this term as he has registered a total of 23 appearances, and he was named in the starting line-up for the 20th time this Championship season ahead of the Forest clash.

The defender went on to deliver an accomplished display at the back for Bowyer's side as he made three interceptions and five clearances to help keep out the hosts, with the Reds drawing a blank for the first time in the league since mid-December.

It was also clear that he was not afraid to put his body on the line in order to help his side seal the three points, with this seeing him block three of Forest's shots throughout the match.

The 26-year-old also offered an assured presence in possession of the ball as he recorded a 70% passing accuracy against the Reds, with this being the second-highest percentage out of the five players who started in defence for Charlton.

Sarr then of course also produced one moment of attacking brilliance as his key pass saw him set up Taylor for the only goal of the night, with this assist displaying how the defender can bring all-round quality to the side when he is at his best.
