Sheffield Wednesday endured a difficult campaign last time out but they ended the season well under Jos Luhukay playing some good football.

That will leave fans feeling optimistic about next season however recent reports that key men, such as Fernando Forestieri, may have to leave will be extremely concerning.

Yet, we've seen over the years in the Championship that it isn't always about having the biggest budget and either way the Owls will be hoping to challenge for the top six next May.

Although, for that to happen the Yorkshire club need to have a very productive transfer window.

Here we look at three incomings and three outgoings that would make it a great window for Wednesday...

The Portuguese defender spent the season on loan at Hillsborough last season and did well at the end, establishing himself as an important player.

He should've done enough to convince the Owls to make a move for him and it appears they want him to join up again.

Even if Fernando Forestieri doesn't leave, Wednesday may feel like they need an attacking midfielder but if he does leave then they certainly do.

And, one man who could step in is Peterborough's Maddison who has shone in League One over the years. He is ready to play at a higher level and would be productive in the Championship.

The Owls should look at another attacker from The Posh - striker Marriott. He scored 27 goals last season and is in-demand.

He has great movement, works hard and is clinical in front of goal. It's a no-brainer for Wedensday to go for him.

The reason they need a striker is because Rhodes has to move on. The big-money signing has failed to deliver since moving to Hillsborough and isn't good enough now.

His past record should encourage potential buyers though and it would benefit all parties for him to go.

The former Watford man is another who hasn't reached his best level since moving to Yorkshire and has struggled with injuries.

He will be on a decent wage too, so Wednesday would be delighted if someone came in for him.

The experienced midfielder is past his best now and whilst he could maybe still do a job, Luhukay should be aiming for better.

He doesn't help control the games anywhere and isn't the most mobile in the middle of the park.
